Our mission is to reach out to underserved children in Washington, DC to promote health and physical fitness and teach valuable life skills through the sport of rugby.

Our Programs

Launched in 2004, our flagship summer touch rugby program runs June through August and is open to children ages 5 –14.

Currently, we are supporting middle and high school tackle programs at various schools throughout DCPS and through our Warriors Academy Team.

Recently, we launched FIT rugby programs in the spring for elementary and middle school children across Washington, DC, partnering with communities and community centers at Deanwood, Hardy Park, and Turkey Thicket.

Washington DC Youth Rugby

PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU OR YOUR CHILDREN ARE NOT WELL PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND PRACTICE. THE SAFETY OF OTHERS IS OUR TOP PRIORITY.

Summer Touch Rugby

We are offering Summer Touch Rugby at 2 locations in the summer for boys and girls 5 - 14 years old.

Come join us to learn how to play Touch Rugby with FIT (Federation of International Touch) rules sport in a safe, fun, family-like, competitive.  This is a great way to introduce kids to rugby and keep experienced/older kids engaged.

Please see registration for times/days as they may vary at each location.

Important information

This is the second season Washington DC Youth Rugby is playing with Rugby Virginia youth teams.

We are so pleased with the number of kids registered to play rugby this summer. We have our flagship program the Washington Warriors at RFK and have welcomed the Hardy Park Dragons in NW.

With both programs, together we are going to be able to field a U6, U8, U10 & U12 teams. The middle school players are doing tackle training/matches. It will be important to parents to let us know each week if your children are available to play on game days via the Google Forms. This will help us with the scheduling and coaching allocations.

Schedule

Please keep your kids hydrated with plenty of water at practice and game days along with sunscreen, shade protection, and hats when necessary. We will also communicate if storms are in the area, but generally we try to get practices in unless there is lightning & thunder or extreme heat.

We have some other fun events planned like our traditional "Kids vs Parents & Coaches" with a DC style BBQ.
